Bullying: Breaking the Cycle

We have posted several items on the problem of bullying and harassment below.   Recently, KIRO TV 7 in Washington showed an interesting program called, "Bullying: Breaking the Cycle," as part of its family and community programs.  We thought our readers would be interested in viewing some successful anti-bullying programs in the schools that are attempting to "break the cycle."

You can find four segments of the video along with other interesting information at:

  1. I found this to be a very comprehensive and useful program. I especially liked the third segment when they highlighted ways to "break the cycle" such as empowering bystanders, giving students the chance to speak about what they have experienced and giving everyone tools to address bullying when it is reported. The curriculum "steps to respect"and the "it gets better" project(end of 2nd segment)are also great resources. Thank you for posting this.

  2. There is another aspect of this bullying that is seldom addresses in the news or on blogs. Adults in the schools bullying students. Downside of solidarity.

  3. I admire the program Bullying: Breaking The Cycle and also other programs that help the victims of bullying and even bullies live a better life away from anger and violence. Life is too short so we have to live it to the fullest but filled with happiness and love not with violence.
